A message from the Chair

Firstly I would like to thank the hard-core members of our club for their relentless hard work and commitment to ensure we delivered a meeting for our loyal south west riders on Sunday. We can count the dedicated and passionate club members on one hand and with the average age of 63!! Hobbling as we were we pulled it off.

However what we didn't expect was the dust, we purposely choose the later date in the year when generally the weather is a lot cooler and moist as has been for the last two years running at Bridport, even when we were building the circuit the ground never gave the signs of dust as it was, yes it did catch us out so our apologies to all you riders and thank you for your endurance.

Also a big thank you to all of those others that helped with the running of the meeting, stewards, marshalls, chief marshall(and IT guru Ben) our gate girls, to name a few without you on the day we couldn't possibly run so thank you.

Also a big thank you to our commentator and club member Shaun, who done a cracking job.

We had a few rider tumbles during the day surpringly none of them were due to the dust and was lucky enough to walk away with a few bruises.
With all of this aside we witnessed some fantastic racing we have some really quick riders now in our group here in the south west and they put on a great show for us all, brilliant and thank you.

We ended with a couple of fun races, one being more of a nostalgia race with some of our old ex club members from as far back as the eighties! Then to finish the day it was the best of the best from each group and what a finale it was, again we witnessed some great racing.

Last but not least a big thank you once again for every single rider, families and friends for supporting our club and taking your rubbish home with you, the field was pretty spotless after you had all gone home with hardly anything for us to pick up was pleasantly satisfying, I thank you again.

So that's a wrap from the Chard Motor Club for this year, we will regroup over the winter months and try to attract some younger members to join our historic club and help us elderly folk out before we seize up completely🤣

We as a center have two more meetings left this year, Devon and South Coast which are both running the last two rounds respectively of the AMCA classic, twinshock and evo championship so please try and support them and finish the year with a bang!

The last meeting at the south coast will incorporate the presentation of the championship winners this year and what a great series it's been🏆

Well thats pretty much it from me and our loyal members of the Chard club, safe riding in the close season and we look forward to seeing you all back next year.
Until then it's base out!
